Roles

The current version of the draft constitution calls for five Officer roles and six Executive Members, the 11 roles forming the Executive Committee that plans, organises, and delivers the aims of the Forum.

  1. Chair – the Chair ensures the smooth running of the Executive Committee and the Forum overall. Like the other members, the Chair is answerable to the Committee and not a managerial role in charge of people.
  2. Vice Chair – to substitute for the Chair where needed, can also be given particular roles or projects to manage.
  3. Secretary – to organise, invite, and manage meeting invites, agendas, and minutes (working with the Chair)
  4. Treasurer – to manage monies held by the Forum, with a goal to raising money in a manner allowed by a Neighbourhood Forum, and to manage any bank account associated with the Forum. A signatory on any account, along with the Chair and Secretary. The Treasurer can pay invoices up to a certain cost (decided by the Executive) and then have a second signatory approve payments over this level (with permission of the Executive).
  5. Membership Officer – to maintain a secure list of members, and regular contact with members and supporters on the progress and activities of the Forum
  6. Up to Six “Executive Members” – with the same speaking and voting rights as the above five Officers, the Exec members have no fixed portfolio and so can be used to support any work on the Forum and, where agreed, be given certain activities or roles to fulfil the needs of the Forum.
